Drew Sarich to Replace Rodney Hicks in Jacques Brel

Drew Sarich, recently of Lestat, will replace Rodney Hicks in the off-Broadway musical Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. He is set to start performances at the Zipper Theater on July 7.

Sarich is best known for playing the vampire Armand in Lestat, a role he took assumed in San Francisco when original cast member Jack Noseworthy left the tuner. He has also appeared on the New York stage in off-Broadway's Tony n' Tina's Wedding. He notably toured as a back-up singer for Liza Minnelli and, in 1999, made a splash playing Quasimodo in the Berlin production of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. For a time, Sarich made his home in Vienna, where he has played Berger in Hair, Cousin Kevin in Tommy and Hedwig in Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, which opened on March 27, 2006, will continue to star Robert Cuccioli, Natascia Diaz and Gay Marshall. Gordon Greenberg directs.
